What is an agent? When AI works instead of just talking

· The Dorna Team · 1 min read عامل‌هاآموزش

A chatbot answers your question. An agent accepts a task.

See the difference with an example. Ask a chatbot “what clauses should a lease contract have?” and you get a generic answer. Tell a Dorna agent: “Compare these three draft contracts against our internal policy and tabulate the discrepancies.” The agent reads the documents, pulls the policy from your knowledge base, compares, and delivers the finished table.

What do agents do in practice?

  • Research & synthesis: “From these ten monthly reports, summarize provincial sales trends and flag the three problem provinces.”
  • Document work: “Match the CVs against the job description and shortlist the top five with reasons.”
  • Multi-step content: “For this product, write the landing copy, three social posts and an intro e-mail — one consistent voice.”
  • Customer answers: in the website widget, an agent answers your customers' real questions with your business's knowledge.

The secret to good results: context. An agent is like a new colleague — the better its access to relevant documents (a knowledge base), the sharper its output.

Our docs include a step-by-step agent guide; and if you don't have an account yet, the free account is the best place to start.
